Everything's coming up Roses!

"Beauty" - January/February 2013

"Honey everything's coming up roses and daffodils!
Everything's coming up sunshine and Santa Claus!
Everything's coming up bright lights and lollipops!
Everything's coming up roses for me and for you!"
- Ethel Merman, Gypsy (1959)

Postcards from Paris #6 - 'Adventures in Paris' is live at Belle Inspiration. Yay! In this postcard I'm sharing some of the more unusual, off the beaten track adventures to be found in my beloved city. By far, my favorite is food carts. Excerpt...

Become a street foodie:

Paris is the food capital of the world. Admittedly, when one thinks of enjoying the culinary delights that this city has to offer, they usually think of one of the literally hundreds of amazing restaurants, bistrots, and cafes to be found on practically every rue. But when you experience the city through the eyes of children, food takes on an entirely different character. It needs to be simple, fresh, yummy and be able to be enjoyed on the go. And that's how I discovered one of the city's best kept secrets - food carts! After diligent and exhaustive research my children recommend the following:

* Roasted Chestnuts
- the street vendor at Place de la Concorde (at the gates of Jardin des Tuileries).

* For Falafels, with every topping you can conceive of, and few that you cannot
- L'As du Fallafel (34, rue des Rosiers, Marais).

* For the best Crepes in town
- Ulysse en Gaulle (28, rue Cler).

* For the most sinfully wonderful cafe creme
- the food cart at the main entrance to Musee d'Orsay (1, rue de la Legion d'Honneur).

Yeah, time to get your Paris on!

Vivre! Rire! Aimer!
