"Every child is an artist.
The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."
- Pablo Picasso
On the last day of class, my students and I break bread - to celebrate our semester's journey, to give thanks that we live in a time and place that allows us to do so. Everyone brings a dish, friends and family are all welcome - I always bring my children.
One of my students is an artist and she came to our 'last day' with a cart filled with art supplies; and created a child's art studio in one corner of my classroom...
My student Nancy (on the right) entranced my three.
So much so that Sage had to pause in her donut munching.
Nancy was a veritable Mary Poppins -
pulling magic from her bag.
Their project? Self portraits - my Mother's Day gift ;-}
