Paris Playlist # 7 - We're Having Big Fun

"Party rockers in the house tonight.
Everybody just have a good time.
And we're gonna make you lose your mind.
Everybody just have a good time...
we just wanna see you shake that."
- LMFAO

I know that your Christmas celebration(s) is/are barely over, but it's time to seriously start thinking about your last minute New Year's Eve's plans. You know that I'm a big fan of the B.Y.O.B. house dance party - especially on the last/first night of the year. What better way to ring in 2012 than with your peeps in your own Parisian inspired dance club? Yeah, you know what the theme of this playlist is...

All homage, credit, and copyright for this image goes to My Little Paris.

Okay, right now you're thinking "last minute?" Yes, you heard me right, last minute (think My Little Paris' wildly intriguing post: 7th Heaven). In that Paris, l'esprit, send a last minute New Year's @mail invite to 30 or so of your closest friends (Facebook is a good option too). Ask them to bring one or two bottle(s) of champagne per person. Start with something like: Let's Party like it's 2011; Dancing from 8 'til...? Whether your final guest-count is 5, 10, 20, or 30, you'll assemble a motley crew, of 'big fun' party-minded people, and the carefree fun level will be unbelievably huge. In the immortal lyrics of Inner City:

"We don't really need a crowd to have a party.
Just a funky beat and you to get it started and oh.
We'll dance the night away.
We're having big fun.
The party's just begun!"

Go to your local party store - you can get hats, bags of confetti, and party horns (in large quantities, on the cheap)! Clear out the middle of your dining room or living room, line up as many chairs as you can find along the perimeter (you can rent extra chairs, on the cheap, at your local party store too ;-), set an iPod boom box on a small table in a corner, and scatter candles onto every available surface. All that's left is the music, the most important part!

*Ooooh yeah, I've put my foot all up in it now (thanks R. for that amazingly fitting bit of 21st century vernacular).

** All of these party pleasing songs are available @iTunes. As always, if you'd like, I'll burn you a cd(s) -gratis, of course ;-)

Alright, party people in the house, I've planted the seed - my job here is done. Now get to work! And, if you get the yen, send me photos of your 2012 New Year's celebrations - I'll devote a special post. In the meantime, Euterpe offers this bit of dance party planning initiation inspiration:

"It won't take a lot of thought for you to do it.
You just feel the groove and baby then you move it.
And oh, dance the night away.
We're having big fun and the party's just begun.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think you're ready..."

! Heureuse Nouvelle Annee !
! Happy New Year !
