"Coffee first. Schemes later."
- Leanna Renee Hieber
Ooooh Paris is so close I can smell the cafe creme.
I was having dinner with my two ladies at our favorite stateside French restaurant. As per usual, most of our conversation (over a good meal and wine, bien sur) was of the tres naughty variety ;-} At one point we started talking about coffee - oui, we're serious about our coffee and champagne - nous sommes passionne. While we Americans have perfected a cup of coffee to an art form, sadly it's nigh impossible to find a decent cup of cafe creme off of French soil - verite! This is the longest I've been away from a decent cafe creme in 4 years and, yes, I've been jonsing bad. So bad that I determined to find a way to make the perfect cup of cafe creme myself. After several trials and errors I did it - and it's totally not the recipe that a Francophile would expect.
How to make the perfect cup of Cafe Creme at home:
What you'l need:
*A gorgeous cup or mug
*boiling water (4-6 oz.)
*1 tsp. Sugar
(or equivalent of your favorite sweetener)
*1 tsp. Nescafe Taster's Choice Instant Coffee (French Roast)
*1-2 tsp. Nestle's CoffeeMate (original)
Spoon the dry ingredients into your cup,
Pour 4-6 oz of boiling water, stir.
!Et voila!
Finally, add a cozy nook - with a warm blanket, some music, a good book and flowers (a crystal dripping chandelier is strongly recommended). Curl up and dream of Paris...
Vivre! Rire! Aimer!
