"For me, the camera is a sketch book,
an instrument of intuition and spontaneity."
Mimi and I were having a girlfriend's champagne lunch at l'Auberge Bressane. When it came time to pay the bill I pulled out my practical (ugly) wallet, she pulled out this gorgeous flocked velvet coin purse. Bien sur, I asked her where she got it - yeah, I had to have one for my very own. Mimi told me she had purchased it from a lovely little boutique in St. Germain and promised to take me there. A few days later we went, and from the moment I stepped inside, I knew that I had to shoot everything - spontaneity.
In this sweet little boutique, Nadine Delephine features the jewelry designs of French artists as well as her own dress designs - in a space that doubles as a boutique and work space.
But the most unique aspect of Nadine's shop are her custom made, Lautrec inspired jewelry mannequins...
Madame Delephine
I walked into Delephine's as a customer. But I was quickly smitten with this pretty little shop. A day of wandering my beloved Paris with Mimi, then entering this shop? Well the spontaneous part of my photographer's muse just took over and out my camera came. Madame was kind enough to let this fledgling unknown photographer shoot her and her boutique; and Mimi was patient enough to allow me all of the time I needed to snap snap snap to my heart's content. A lovely afternoon, another wonderful Paris adventure. Yeah, I totally forgot to get my change purse! Tres bien ;-}

Ahh... but forgetting to purchase the coin purse gives you the perfect excuse to return to the shop! :)
ReplyDeleteBtw, I'm really enjoying your blog. I found you through my visit to Ivy & Elephant.
