An adventure of a lifetime with Mr. Gorgeous
"If your heart is in your dream no request is too extreme."

Paris has always been my and Mr. Gorgeous' special place. My Pour l'Amour 5 part series, Lover's Weekend, was inspired by my travels to Paris with Mr. Gorgeous (start the series with - 'Before You Go'). So, bien sur, where else would we celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary? While I spend most of my time photographing my beloved city when I'm there, this time I wanted to be in front of the camera. I wanted once-in-a-lifetime gorgeous romantic photos of Mr. Gorgeous and I in 'our' city. And I knew just who to contact...
Audrey
One & Only Paris Photography
I contacted Audrey and asked her if she'd be able to schedule a shoot during the days we'd be in Paris. Once you see her work, you'll totally understand why I knew that Audrey was the only person I wanted to capture this special moment. We agreed upon a date, I PayPal(ed) a deposit, then I spent the next two months freaking out about my hair, makeup and wardrobe!
When the day arrived, Peter and I got dressed, I put a few straws in my hair, made up my face and packed my Tapestry bag with a full wardrobe change (yeah, I went all the way Diva!) As we headed out to catch a taxi we saw that it was raining - uh oh! By the time we met Audrey at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, there was a pretty steady rain falling as was the temperature (EEK and EEK!). I must say, I was stunned at how beautiful Audrey is - she should be in front of a camera, like all of the time! Best yet, she's even more beautiful on the inside, affable and very easy to work with.
The rain delayed our shoot for so long, that she called her partner and husband - Tony - to join us and they told us that they would both shoot us and keep shooting as long as there was light. Our 1 1/2 hour shoot turned into a 3 hour shoot. And, during our correspondence, I told Audrey about my jewelry (which of course I wore during the shoot) and she took the time to shoot each piece! (See my Temple Designs in Paris photo album at my Facebook page).
So, without further ado, here are a few of the photos...
Pont Bir Hakeim
Covered walkway, Musee du Louvre
Cafe Louis Phillippe, Quai de l'Hotel de Ville
Pont Neuf
Along the banks of the Seine
Cafe Esmerlda, Ile de la Cite
Notre Dame
The experience, the entire day, was...magical. Audrey and Tony were so easy going, yet tres professional, they made it easy for Peter and I to just be able to focus on each other and the moment. We didn't feel the cold and the rain kindly decided to give us a few hours grace. For a few hours Mr. Gorgeous and I were beautiful characters of Paris. But the best part? I now have a few forever photos, in the city of eternal love, with my eternal love. Thank you Audrey...

Your photos are so beautiful! I am sitting at the computer with a silly smile on my face.
ReplyDeleteYou are very blessed to be celebrating 15 years of a happy marriage to a good man and to have your gorgeous children.(And to celebrate in Paris! My favorite city on earth! Wow!)
May God continue blessing you and your lovely family for a long time!
Thank you! It was a dream come true, a memory I'll treasure forever. I am very grateful for my blessings and I send you the same ;-}
DeleteI just noticed the photo of Catherine Deneuve on your sidebar. During a trip with my sister in 2006, I caught sight of her at the Vanves Flea Market. My sister argued it wasn't she - and then finally said, "It is Deneuve - she is so beautiful". Well, I rehearsed and rehearsed what I wanted to say and finally gathered the courage to speak, "Mme. Deneuve" i said, "Toute ma vie j'ai pensé que vous êtes la plus belle femme du monde. Maintenant que je vous vois en personne, je suis sûr." She smiled politely and said "Merci". It was about 8:00 am on a cold March day. She was dressed all in black with a black headband holding back her blond shoulder-length hair and very large sunglasses. Oh, and she had a very handsome young man on her arm! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an adventure! I adore Mme. Deneuve. Along with Mme. Baker, for me, she is the epitome of La Parisienne. And with a young handsome man on her arm? But of course! Only in Paris - sigh.
Delete*The photo I use for my 'Going to Paris? What to Pack Before You Go' section is from a Louis Vuitton ad, photographed at Track #25/Gare de l'Est, in front of one of the Orient Express' cars - DIVA!
