Serena - the magnificant!
"What are little girls made of?
They are made of sugar and spice
and sweat and fury
and grit and strength
That's what little girls are made of.
Strong IS Beautiful."
The French Open is in full-swing and I'm in heaven! Paris and Tennis - the perfect combination. Alas, beset by injuries, my beloved Sisters Williams are not playing this year [sigh]. Still, a Sistah must soldier on. Of course, it's no hard duty. There are several amazing athletes to root for.

Strong is Beautiful
The World Tennis Association (WTA) has just released a new global ad campaign: "Strong is Beautiful." Featuring 38 of the world's best women Tennis players, the campaign consists of nearly a dozen vignettes, all with the ladies glammed out and playing tennis. Hair flowing, glitter glittering muscles bunching. In a word - stunning. Check out one of them...
"Sugar and Spice"
The vignettes "...capture the grit and glam that have become the calling cards of the sport's modern stars." Provocative and poignant, I think that these spots are brilliant!
Serena - Strong is Beautiful
And while I shouldn't be, I must admit that I'm surprised and dismayed at the flack that this ad and these athletes are getting for these ads. And from whom? People who purport to be feminists and should know better. Why can't a woman be strong, powerful, self-assured, beautiful, sexy and feminine? Can't she wear lip gloss and kick ass? I say yes and so do they:
Kim Clisters
Ana Ivanovic
Li Na
Vika Azarenka
Work it girls. Work it!
Vivre! Rire! Aimer!
